For Galliker, the handover is an important step in the Green Logistics by Galliker mission. By 2030, Galliker aims to deliver CO2-neutrally to Swiss city centers.

Reduction of CO2 emissions
With the handover of the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell Trucks, the Swiss private sector is ramping up a new, clean mobility system. This will enable CO2 emissions, soot particles and nitrogen oxides to be sustainably reduced - for both heavy goods vehicles and passenger cars. The new 36-ton trailer trucks are fueled with green hydrogen, which is produced in Switzerland from 100% renewable energy sources.

This is how the hydrogen-electric vehicle works: in the fuel cell, a chemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen from the ambient air generates electricity, which drives the 350 kW electric motor. Only water vapor escapes from the exhaust. Refueling time, range and possible uses are comparable to today's diesel trucks - with the difference that the fuel cell commercial vehicles are electric and therefore silent. This saves around 80 tons of CO2 emissions per commercial vehicle per year.
