Industry roadmap for support services under the new KIG Act

Reducing the consumption of oil and natural gas and thus achieving net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050 - this is the goal of the Swiss Climate and Innovation Act, which will come into force on January 1, 2025.

However, according to the law, this goal is not to be achieved through bans, but through targeted incentives. Incentives such as targeted support contributions for clear strategies that lead to a reduction in CO2 pollution.

The law therefore stipulates that a so-called company roadmap must be presented, which is then examined by the federal government - if this roadmap is approved, the subsidies are awarded accordingly. In order to simplify this process for companies in the transport sector, ASTAG has drawn up a so-called sector roadmap as a guide, based on various exemplary company roadmaps.

Although the actual support has not yet been clearly defined, the deadline of the end of 2024 has already been set for the submission of company timetables and thus the ASTAG sector timetable. On behalf of the ASTAG association, Imbach Logistik AG, together with Beda Steiner AG and Dreier AG, is setting a clear example. The aim is to pave the way for other companies that would like to make a greater commitment to the environment with company timetables, supported by subsidies. In the hope that the incentives, the possible measures and thus the active subsidies from the federal government for our industry can be driven forward in the long term.
