Electric on the road for Lucerne Cantonal Hospital

The Volvo FL electric with a range of around 250 km is equipped with a fixed body and a lifting platform. After instruction, the electric truck was handed over to the future drivers. Since then, it has been in use six days a week, providing transportation services for the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS) in the areas of supply and disposal for the Sursee and Wolhusen hospital sites.

The new electric truck is part of the overall logistics concept for the LUKS, which plans to put another fully electric truck and a hydrogen-powered trailer into operation by May 2021. This will enable all transportation to all LUKS sites to be completely CO2-neutral in the near future.
