Areal-Süd; medium-voltage electricity grid incl. battery storage

Just under a year after the commissioning of our medium-voltage electricity grid on our northern site in Altishofen / Dagmersellen (see article from May 16, 2023), the second site grid also went into operation on October 24, 2023, this time in the southern part of our site.

It connects all of our Car Logistics buildings in Altishofen and Nebikon as well as the workshops and the administration building. All construction and installation work was completed on time. As in the northern part of the site, the aim here in the south was to be able to use the solar power we produce ourselves in all buildings.

This means that almost 3.9 MWp of power can be used wherever it is needed. Regardless of the roof on which the electricity is produced. For further optimization, a battery with a storage capacity of 960 kWh was also integrated into this area network. This makes it possible to take clean solar power into the night and use it instead of feeding it into the grid during the day.

"Greenpower" project to be discontinued

The "Greenpower" innovation project in Dagmersellen will not be continued following a joint agreement between the partners involved. Following a comprehensive strategic reassessment by Emmi Switzerland, this decision was taken after consultation with the project partners. This decision reflects the economic and technological framework conditions that have materialized in the course of project development. In particular, the long-term economic viability, the complexity of implementation and the regulatory framework conditions were re-analyzed.
