Additional infrastructure for sustainable, international transports in Belgium

With the commissioning of new high-performance e-charging stations at the Gent site, we are expanding our international charging infrastructure and creating an important basis for the use of electric vehicles in cross-border transportation.

Two powerful e-charging stations, each with 360 kW, have been available at our location in Gent (BE) for a few weeks now. Both stations are equipped with two charging points each, allowing up to four vehicles to be charged in parallel. The new infrastructure ensures that electric vehicles can be efficiently and reliably integrated into operations.

Currently, the charging infrastructure is primarily used for the electric transportation of new cars on the Rastatt-Zeebrugge and Gent-Altishofen routes. Four fully electric Autoporters are in operation for our customers on these routes every day. In combination with the e-charging stations at our site in Messancy (BE), this results in a coordinated charging axis that ensures the stable operation of these international transports.

In addition, the charging infrastructure in Gent is already being used for purely domestic Belgian transport. An electric tractor unit is used to unload the local trailers. This autumn, another electric tractor unit will be put into operation in Gent, which means that the facility will also actively support the national electrification of the fleet in Belgium.

With the new e-charging stations in Gent, Galliker is further developing its charging infrastructure in a targeted and practical manner - tailored to today's needs and prepared for the requirements of tomorrow.
